NICOLA BELLER CARBONE
(Song- AULA FIAK)
Nicola Beller Carbone, soprano and actress
Years ago, at the urging and encouragement of many young artists, NBC began to devote part of her time to coaching and teaching, combining teaching with her international career as a soprano.
Born in Germany and raised in Spain, the singer-actress approaches the classical genre through rock, jazz, street theater and cabaret. NBC shows a particular artistic profile in which her previous experiences as a dancer, instrumentalist and actress enrich her representation of operatic figures.
Since the beginning of her career, NBC's characteristic trait has been to display great breadth of skills when embodying her operatic roles. After several contracts with stable opera companies in Germany (Munich and Mannheim), she began working internationally in 2001. She tackles the major roles of the 20th century, with Salome, Elektra, Tosca, Wozzeck - Marie and Katerina Ismailova at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Teatro alla Fenice, Opera National de Paris, Opera Genève, La Monnaie Bruxelles, Opernhaus Zurich, Canadian Opera Company, Teatro Real Madrid, Teatro de la Zarzuela and many more, collaborating regularly with leading artists of the international scene. NBC has also made a name for itself in the field of contemporary opera, performing operas by composers such as Wolfgang Rihm and Bernd Alois Zimmermann. Upcoming projects include Francis Poulenc's La voix humaine and Alexander Zemlinksy's Florentinische Tragödie with the ABAO in Bilbao and Georg Friedrich Haas' Bluthaus at the Bayerische Staatsoper München.
NBC develops a strong desire to share and transmit its own stage experiences with the young generation of future opera professionals. She engages creatively and at the same time pragmatically with emerging singers by focusing on teaching, with a focus on the interaction between performance and music.
She is regularly invited by international teaching institutions to give masterclasses and workshops. Since 2019 she is part of the permanent teaching staff of the Opernstudio der Bayerischen Staatsoper München where she teaches acting, interpretation, vocal and acting expression. Also since 2019 she has been collaborating with the Alfredo Kraus International Foundation in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria giving Masterclasses.
Her teaching engagements also include the Theaterakademie August Everding, the Opernstudio Nationaltheater Mannheim, , the Escuela Superior de Canto Madrid, the Académie Rainer III de Monaco, the Accademia del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino / Opera di Firenze, the Internationales Opernstudio Zürich and the Conservatoire de Montréal.
